Are we making the most of our team?

We wanted an unbiased assessment of the team we had put together (like the Avengers only more creative). The Belbin assessments enabled us to understand how our each member of our team opperates, by identifying the strengths and weaknesses of everyone invested in Starbots. From this we were able to understand how the team as a whole needed to operate.

And here is how we know we are making the most of our team – we have all the Belbin team roles needed for an effective team.

Dan – Completer finisher

Belbin says “Most effectively used at the end of tasks to polish and scrutinise the work for errors, subjecting it to the highest standards of quality control

Strengths: Painstaking & conscientious. Searches out errors. Polishes and perfects”

We say “Dan is responsible for creative concepts and the implementation of solutions across the design spectrum. He’s the man who takes a brief and works with our team to deliver a complete end product which meets every need the client has – and more”

Kate H – Implementer

Belbin says “Needed to plan a workable strategy and carry it out as efficiently as possible

Strengths: Practical, reliable, efficient. Turns ideas into actions and organises work that needs to be done”

We say “Kate H combines creative flair with organisational nous to deliver great graphic design solutions. Kate H works best under pressure”

Jo – Teamworker

Belbin says “Help the team to gel, using their versatility to identify the work required and complete it on behalf of the team

Strengths: Co-operative, perceptive and diplomatic. Listens and averts friction”

We say “Jo leads on quotes, invoices, office admin and supporting the Starbots team as a whole. She is the oracle of Starbots info”

Kate C – Shaper

Belbin says “Provide the necessary drive to ensure that the team keeps moving and does not lose focus or momentum

Strengths: Challenging, dynamic, thrives on pressure. Has the drive and courage to overcome obstacles”

We say “Kate is committed to making Starbots the ultimate agency to work with and for, and having grown it from the ground up she’s rightly proud. Kate is the driving force of Starbots Creative”

Gavin – Monitor evaluator

Belbin says “Provides a logical eye, making impartial judgements where required and weighs up the team’s options in a dispassionate way

Strengths: Sober, strategic and discerning. Sees all options and judges accurately”

Linzi – Specialist

Belbin says “Brings in-depth knowledge of a key area to the team

Strengths: Single-minded, self-starting and dedicated. They provide specialist knowledge and skills”

Sylvie – Plant

Emma – Coordinator
