The new site www.constructive-resettlement.co.uk has been created through a collaboration between the London Resettlement Partnership, funded by the Youth Justice Board and based at Camden Council, and marketing agency, Starbots Creative.
Its aim is to help achieve positive outcomes for vulnerable children by providing training and guidance to youth justice professionals on how to implement Constructive Resettlement.
Constructive Resettlement is the theory of change that’s been adopted by the Youth Justice Board to unite the sector in achieving sustained positive outcomes for children. It centres around the fact that enabling positive identity development for children is key to helping them live constructive futures.
Emma Bagley, Client Relations Director at Starbots Creative said, “We’re delighted to have launched the Constructive Resettlement website with Camden Council and the London Resettlement Partnership to help tackle such an important challenge.”
“We really enjoyed every aspect of the project, from consulting stakeholders and creating a visual style, to writing the content and developing the site’s navigation.”
“Once we created the initial style and structure of the site, we then produced a number of visual content resources for it, including animations, explainer videos, case studies and a digital flipbook. The purpose of these was to present the complex principles of Constructive Resettlement theory in more digestible formats, to help professionals to implement it in their everyday practice.”
The new Constructive Resettlement website has been delivered on a scalable content management system that can evolve over time with changing needs. It’s also set-up with Google Analytics and Tag Manager for tracking and site optimisation over time.
Louise Wakelin, London Resettlement Partnership Strategic Manager, commissioned Starbots Creative to create the new website.
She said, “The London Resettlement Partnership, hosted by London Borough Camden, is thrilled to have developed a new approach to supporting youth justice practitioners.
“Nationally, 65% of children released from custody reoffend, according to our data from the Youth Justice Board and Ministry of Justice. This project aims to help reduce that rate across the 32 London boroughs and beyond. It will support some of the most vulnerable children, through enabling pro-social identity development, to achieve improved outcomes upon release from custody.”
“Starbots Creative have helped us develop something unique within the sector. Their professionalism, ability to quickly understand the research and how it can support practice, and their drive to achieve our ambitions has made this journey to launching the first ever constructive resettlement website smooth and enjoyable. They have truly brought our work to life.”
A second phase of the project is now underway to develop and build upon the breadth and depth of resources available on the new website.
Emma said, “Whereas phase one content focused on explaining the theory that underpins Construction Resettlement, the content we’re producing in phase two will offer more practical, ‘how to’ guidance in the form of activity sheets, infographics, interactive forms, animations and more.”
Louise added, “After the initial response to the website launch, we’re very excited to deliver phase two. It will see more partnership working with key organisations in the sector, further stakeholder consultation, and as an end product, more vital resources available for both professionals, as well as children in custody and on remand.”
