Local creative agency, Starbots Creative, accepted four successful applicants onto its training and mentoring programme this Summer.
Starbots Academy is a scheme designed to help aspiring creatives get real industry experience and guidance. As a creative agency specialising in branding, content, design, marketing and digital, Starbots Creative offers budding designers, content writers and marketers the chance to gain hands on experience in a commercial environment.
Over the course of three months, the four young aspiring creatives got the chance to develop their professional skills, work on results-driven projects for CV building and get detailed feedback from industry specialists.
From writing social calendar content for an education outreach programme to designing a logo for a sustainable clothing brand, all four learners had the opportunity to gain experience across a range of disciplines.

Kate Cooper, Managing Director at Starbots Creative said, “The Starbots Academy is something we’re really committed to because it fits so closely with our values. Education and youth development are areas that we’re really passionate about – not just in terms of supporting young individuals in our local community, but also when it comes to the clients and causes we work with and for.”
Local university student, Ruby Smallman, recently completed a six-week placement within our design studio. She commented:
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my six-week work placement here at Starbots Creative and I’m thrilled to have the chance to work on a freelance basis until I go back to my studies in September. It’s been a fantastic opportunity to work in a creative studio environment, surrounded by such a warm and welcoming team.
“I’ve gained a lot more confidence and developed my technical skills in Adobe Creative Suite, practising on a scope of projects including social media and print. I’m excited to finish my final year of graphic design at university and pursue my dream career in the creative industry.”

The application window for Starbots Academy will re-open early next year for budding creatives to apply for branding, content, design, marketing or digital experience. You can find more information about the scheme at www.starbots-creative.co.uk/academy.
