Ness Botanic Gardens - Liverpool University

The award-winning Ness Botanic Gardens provides a unique and captivating garden experience. In the early 1900s, Arthur Kilpin Bulley not only laid the foundations of the gardens but changed the face of British gardening. His daughter later gifted the gardens to the University of Liverpool, who now operate visits, memberships, educational activities, research and even weddings at the gardens.

the challenge

Ness needed a brand that would appeal to their current and future members and stakeholders. They wanted to distinguish between the different functions of the gardens to target different audiences.

The Solution

We created a strong visual brand identity to represent the natural elegance of the gardens. It offers flexibility to differentiate between the wide range of services offered by Ness and features simplistic illustrations in keeping with the gardens’ natural beauty.

The new identity offers each department at Ness distinct differences for variation, while reinforcing the overarching brand.
