How do you design cohesive event collateral that engages both students and educators?
The Inspirational Learning Group
Print Design, Event Signage
The Inspirational Learning Group engages, inspires and motivates students to success, providing them with the opportunity to make informed decisions about their futures. Through revolutionising careers guidance, young people are enabled to develop skills for the future world of work and bridge the global growing skills gap.
Home to the largest careers and enterprise competition in the UK – The National Careers Challenge – the team at The Inspirational Learning Group partnered with us to create a new 56-page event programme and accompanying signage for the Grand Final.
Targeting event attendees (students, educators and professionals), sponsors and stakeholders, the programme had to be a visually engaging, imagery-led publication to encourage users to interact. To create consistency across the entire event, the signage would need to follow the agreed design style of the programme.

The event was a celebration of students’ achievements, and it was key that the programme emanated the same feelings of joy. So, we put bold personality-led visuals and photography of previous successful students at the forefront – perfectly representing The Inspirational Learning Group brand and engaging the target audience.
Consistency in design and theme was critical, particularly when integrating sponsor content and advertising. So, we developed a consistent, modern design style that created a reader-friendly experience. With clear section breaks and minimal clutter, the design style helped the audience to navigate the pages within the programme.

To create consistency across the entire event, we designed the signage in line with the new programme but used the expanded colour palette sparingly to deliver a more cohesive feel. The brand’s signature outlined typography featured heavily on the signage design. Due to the directional nature of the signage, accessibility was key, so we scaled the line thickness with the font size to ensure the signs were clearly legible across the site.
